Beautiful photos – sometimes you can get overawed by such scale and history, that it’s good to stop and appreciate the details. That’s my thought, anyway!
Ah, that’s interesting. With a place like the Alcazar, you could be there forever doing the details, as there are amazing tiles, carved wood, plasterwork etc everywhere you look! I guess you just shoot everything that catches your eye. Still, choosing the images for the gallery must be difficult – narrowing them down.
Yeah, I’ve learned not to be too precious about it – I’ll have changed my mind about which images I prefer a week from now, or I might return to an image I’d overlooked a year from now and find a crop of it I love. Produce, produce, produce – the rest takes care of itself.

When I can, I give a place two runarounds – one with the wide angle for scale and one with the telephoto for detail.
