  1. Great pictures – you’ve captured the heart of spanish culture! I’m spanish (not from Andalucia, though , but from the Canary Islands…). You’ve made me want to go back to my home country :)

  2. Thanks so much Katherina. It didn’t hurt that more or less as soon as I arrived, Feria began here. Spanish culture in glorious technicolor and at high volume for a whole week!

  3. Very nice work here! Glad you posted on BC so I was able to catch it. Love the way you capture the world around you, gives the viewer a great sense of being there.

Keep up the good work !

  4. Thanks Hankmann the feedback is always appreciated! Keeps me going…

  5. Excellent photos Robin. This last round is making me very hungry for Jamon (and it is 5:30am here).

Especially liking day 31, very nice composition. Looking forward to more.

    • Thanks Tandem, stay tuned for more Jamon – if you’re a fan you’ll know that there are numerous different typed and grades, so Jamon alone will be a photo essay within a photo essay…

  6. Thanks Chris, appreciate the feedback.

  7. I love these photos. There are so many sites, objects and situations that when taken from certain angles produce beautiful photos. No need to photoshop or fiddle around with.

  8. Thanks for your kind words Michael – the photo that went up the day after your comment was photoshopped to within an inch of its life! But back to business as normal the day after that…

  9. Your photos remind me of why I want to move to Spain someday! Keep ‘em coming!

  10. Lovely photos!!!! The one of Ronda is stunning. We missed that. We really liked Tarifa even if we were only there for a day, passing by. Are there any surfers left in there at this time of the year…? *just curious*

Ah, you made us longing back now… We loved Andalusia when we were there some years ago, early spring. Had a friend who rented a house (longterm) in Sanlucar de Barrameda and we did drive from there exploring all villages from Huelva -> Tarifa -> Gibraltar -> A mountain tour -> Malaga -> Nerja. Simply gorgeous, we had such a wonderful time!

  11. Love your photos. They’re really striking in perspective, color and mood.I haven’t been to these places, but feel like I’m right there looking at these photos.

  12. The new pictures from Tangiers and Cadiz are brilliant!

  13. You’ll be an olive lover then? Jamon and olives – we should definitely have lunch sometime…

  14. Nice selection of shots. Lots of great color.

  15. Robin, your photos always amaze me. Your latest ones are so striking! I also went through some of the older ones agai and realized that I didn’t know what Jamon de Pato was — just that it was an interesting photo. Looked it up – now I know.

  16. Yeah, the first time I bought it I thought I was buying a pork product but it turned out to be delicious so I wasn’t too disappointed. Not quite as delicious as the real thing though. Really glad to hear you’re enjoying the photos – we were in Granada for several days so there will be a few shots from that beautiful city.

  17. Beautiful photos Robin! Full of color and life. Wish I had something more profound to say other than thanks!

  18. “Thanks” is a profound thing to say, Todd, and very much appreciated!! Stay tuned…

  19. The new pictures are really great Robin. Your photos were one of our key inspirations for buying a new DSLR camera! Now we just need to use the damn thing!

  20. […] got to Tarifa, (check out A Lot of Wind for a good insight into this small city) on the very Southern tip of Spain and Europe. I cast my […]

  21. What a great series of images. I have you on my reader blog list now.
    All the best from Chile…

  22. Robin, you’re doing an awesome job with your pictures! Keep up the great work.

    David

  23. Wow! These are spectacular photographs! Do you mind telling me what kind of camera you use? :)

    • Thanks very much! A good few of these were taken with a little Sony cyber-shot and days 86 and 87 were taken with a Canon dslr but most of the shots on the blog are taken with a Pentax K20d.

  24. Wonderful shots, as always.

Budget Travelers Sandbox is one year old this week. I have started a new feature “Travel Photo Thursday”. If you have a moment, check it out. You might want to participate :)

  25. Well done Robin, you really capture the moment. My favourite would have to be day 14 with the drummers – I love that shot! Keep it up!

  26. I think Tuesday 28th Dec ’10 is my favorite yet. It is now my desktop picture for the winter.

  27. Awesome photos — I love how the blue house is so striking on Dec. 23rd photo.

  28. what a stunning collection! and thinking about the experiences that come with having taken them…wow :)

  29. I have always loved your ‘Day Two’ photo – priceless!
